Tyrone is currently a doctoral student at Georgia Southern University in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health within the department of Health Policy and Community Health. He received a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Texas A&M University Health Science Center. He completed his undergraduate studies at the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy.
Maneuvering through undergrad, master’s level, and doctoral studies has been a challenge for Tyrone, particularly uprooting and rebuilding his life in unfamiliar territory. Born and raised in North Carolina, then starting his healthcare journey in Texas influenced him to think innovatively and abstractly about ways to serve his home community. As the Co-Founder of Project Legacy Foundation, Incorporated, this organization began as a means to inspire and motivate youth, primarily those that are most vulnerable through education, mentorship, and community engagement.
Outside of his professional scope, Tyrone enjoys music, traveling, and considers himself a “certified foodie.” He enjoys hearing live music, whether he’s listening to his favorite artists or watching the Blue and Gold Marching Machine perform. Lastly, Tyrone does enjoy using his voice. Professionally, he uses his voice and words to advocate and improve health. Leisurely, he uses his voice to sing and share his musical talents with the world.
